The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is one of Canada’s best small universities. Located in the spectacular landscape of northern BC, Canada’s Green University has won numerous awards for its environmental initiatives. As an example of its commitment to the environment and communities, the university has implemented a bioenergy system on the campus that was recognized in 2010 as the best campus sustainability project in North America, tying for first place with Harvard.
The university provides undergraduate and graduate learning opportunities that explore cultures, health, economies, and the environment. Offerings include a full range of programs in the arts and sciences, professional degrees, medicine, and engineering. As one of BC’s research-intensive universities, UNBC also involves students in research and discovery. In addition to fostering and

Most UNBC students attend the main campus in Prince George, a city of 81,000 people located in central British Columbia. Its location provides students with easy access to outdoor recreation, including skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking. The university also offers classes and research stations throughout northern BC, including Terrace, Fort St. John, and Quesnel.
